Hi guys! We have a lot planned for the next two weeks so we basically just finalized some things at the meeting today.
GUEST: Ricardo Rosas (ICIRR)
9 The Illinois Coalition for immigrant and Refugee Rights. They help immigrants integrate into the US society through advocacy for many different programs. They help immigrants learn English, education, national and state laws as well as advocating the importance of voting. They help educated them about the presidential candidates and their votes matter. They also work with undocumented immigrants. They are asking for volunteers to help them out at their location in Waukegan. Every month they hold a Mega Workshop and much of the work does not need much training. The next Workshop is NOV. 17 in Waukegan. If you would like to help please email me (

Also on December 1st they will take a bus to Des Moines for the Democratic Debate, it’s from 5:30 am-12:00 am and they will leave from Waukegan. Let him know if you are interested.Dress an Angel tabling: we will now be tabling every Thursday from 11-1 for them so if anyone could make it during those times please let me know so that we make sure you have the donation bottle.
GRAND OPENING!! (Friday Nov 16): we will have a lounge party in our newly painted/decorated lounge! It will be from 9pm-12am. Feel free to bring friends, music, and games! Also Jaime will put up the new lounge pictures on the website sometime soon. And him and carlos will make email flyer sent to the members.
GLOBAL FEST (Sunday Nov. 18): we decided to have another trivia game, a bake sale, and have people leave their painted handprints on a canvas(?) for our lounge(Grand Mural).

OTHER UPDATES
- Soup and Stories this Friday, Deeptika will talk about being hindu and the Hindu holiday that takes place tomorrow.
- Caribbean Night (Saturday) held by ISO it will be a dance party in the MSC, starts at 10?
- Immigration Lawyer (Thursday Nov. 15, 7pm Meyer Auditorium) after the meeting we will go to Meyer together to listen to her.
- Due to the recent comments made on campus about other students, she is asking students and organizations to write a one sentence statement showing that this type of behavior is not going to be allowed on campus. She will send out more information regarding this but if you could come up with one, if you have time that would be great.
